Picasa....help!

Does anyone know about Picasa? It's the weirdest thing, but everytime I open it, it furiously makes doubles of everything I have. I have two of everything, by folders.
If anyone knows how to fix it (or has the time to look up help and can figure it out,) hellupu me puleezu.
Thanks, all you faithful.
